Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, BCAT1 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated BCAT1 data layer compared with 25 for mass-spec protein and 4 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where higher BCAT1 Mutation is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated BCAT1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC and SKCM show a favorable association.
UCEC, LIHC, and SKCM are the cancer types where BCAT1 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
