Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, B4GALNT4 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of B4GALNT4’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where B4GALNT4 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types B4GALNT4 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, COAD, and BLCA are the cancer types where B4GALNT4 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
