Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, B3GAT1-DT RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of B3GAT1-DT’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where B3GAT1-DT RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types B3GAT1-DT is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRP and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRP, THCA, and BRCA are the cancer types where B3GAT1-DT tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
