Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ATP6AP1L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ATP6AP1L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where ATP6AP1L RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ATP6AP1L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUSC and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRP, LIHC, and KIRC are the cancer types where ATP6AP1L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
