Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ARL5B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ARL5B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), where ARL5B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ARL5B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

STAD, KIRP, and KICH are the cancer types where ARL5B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
