Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ARL14EPL RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 8 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ARL14EPL’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where ARL14EPL RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ARL14EPL is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, THCA, and HNSC are the cancer types where ARL14EPL tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
