Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ARID5A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ARID5A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where ARID5A RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ARID5A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and BLCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KICH, KIRC, and BLCA are the cancer types where ARID5A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
