Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, AQP11 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of AQP11’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where AQP11 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types AQP11 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUAD, THCA, and HNSC are the cancer types where AQP11 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
