Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, APOOP2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of APOOP2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where APOOP2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types APOOP2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, BRCA, and LUAD are the cancer types where APOOP2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
