Across TCGA patient cohorts, APELA RNA expression is significantly associated with the protein abundance of many other proteins, with 9,936 significant associations in total. BRCA shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible APELA-associated proteins across cancer lineages are FBLN1, MMP2, and PDGFRL. Each is linked with APELA in more than 6 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both APELA-to-partner and partner-to-APELA results are reported.
