Across TCGA patient cohorts, APELA mutation is significantly associated with the RNA expression of many other genes, with 15 significant associations in total. UCEC shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible APELA-associated genes across cancer lineages are PEDS1-UBE2V1, SEPTIN14P19, and IGKV1OR-2. Each is linked with APELA in more than 1 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both APELA-to-partner and partner-to-APELA results are reported.
