Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, AKR7L RNA is linked to patient survival in 22 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated AKR7L data layer compared with 6 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC), where higher AKR7L RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated AKR7L expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRP and SKCM show a favorable association.
ACC, KIRP, and KICH are the cancer types where AKR7L RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
