Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, AKR1C8P RNA is linked to patient survival in 19 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated AKR1C8P data layer compared with 6 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher AKR1C8P RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated AKR1C8P expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as PAAD and LUSC show a favorable association.
HNSC, LUAD, and PAAD are the cancer types where AKR1C8P RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
