Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, AFM mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated AFM data layer compared with 17 for mass-spec protein and 7 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher AFM mass-spec protein is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated AFM expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC and HNSC show a favorable association.

CCRCC, HNSC, and LUAD are the cancer types where AFM mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
