Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ADAM22 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ADAM22’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where ADAM22 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ADAM22 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, UCEC, and LIHC are the cancer types where ADAM22 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
