Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ACACB RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 16 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ACACB’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where ACACB RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ACACB is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, COAD, and LUAD are the cancer types where ACACB tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
