Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ABHD17AP6 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ABHD17AP6’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where ABHD17AP6 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ABHD17AP6 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as READ and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, READ, and UCEC are the cancer types where ABHD17AP6 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
