Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, AANAT Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated AANAT data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), where higher AANAT Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated AANAT expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM show a favorable association.

GBM and SKCM are the cancer types where AANAT Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
