Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, AAAS Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated AAAS data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein and 7 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher AAAS Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated AAAS expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
HNSC and UCEC are the cancer types where AAAS Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
