Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZNF84 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated ZNF84 data layer compared with 22 for mass-spec protein and 8 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher ZNF84 mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated ZNF84 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
HNSC and UCEC are the cancer types where ZNF84 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
