Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZNF780B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 8 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZNF780B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where ZNF780B RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZNF780B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, THCA, and LIHC are the cancer types where ZNF780B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
