Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZNF771 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZNF771’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where ZNF771 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZNF771 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRP, LIHC, and KICH are the cancer types where ZNF771 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
