Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZNF585A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 8 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZNF585A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where ZNF585A RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZNF585A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, LIHC, and KICH are the cancer types where ZNF585A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
