Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZNF582 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 16 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZNF582’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where ZNF582 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZNF582 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, THCA, and HNSC are the cancer types where ZNF582 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
