Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZNF578 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 1 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated ZNF578 data layer compared with 20 for mass-spec protein and 8 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher ZNF578 mass-spec protein is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated ZNF578 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC show a favorable association.
HNSC are the cancer types where ZNF578 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
