Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZNF426 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZNF426’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where ZNF426 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZNF426 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, KIRC, and LIHC are the cancer types where ZNF426 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
