Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZNF423 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZNF423’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where ZNF423 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZNF423 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUAD and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUAD, LUSC, and THCA are the cancer types where ZNF423 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
