Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZNF420 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZNF420’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where ZNF420 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZNF420 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and HNSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, HNSC, and LUAD are the cancer types where ZNF420 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
