Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZNF417 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZNF417’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where ZNF417 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZNF417 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, LIHC, and CHOL are the cancer types where ZNF417 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
