Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZNF414 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZNF414’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where ZNF414 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZNF414 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, COAD, and KIRC are the cancer types where ZNF414 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
