Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZNF354C RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZNF354C’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where ZNF354C RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZNF354C is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, KICH, and UCEC are the cancer types where ZNF354C tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
