Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZNF14 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZNF14’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where ZNF14 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZNF14 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, KICH, and LIHC are the cancer types where ZNF14 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
