Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZNF136 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZNF136’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where ZNF136 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZNF136 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUAD and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUAD, THCA, and LIHC are the cancer types where ZNF136 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
