Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZDHHC9 RNA is linked to patient survival in 30 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated ZDHHC9 data layer compared with 3 for mutation status and 2 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher ZDHHC9 RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated ZDHHC9 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRC and LUAD show a favorable association.
HNSC, BRCA, and CESC are the cancer types where ZDHHC9 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
