Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZC3H8 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZC3H8’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where ZC3H8 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZC3H8 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, COAD, and BLCA are the cancer types where ZC3H8 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
