Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZC3H18 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZC3H18’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where ZC3H18 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZC3H18 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRP, HNSC, and COAD are the cancer types where ZC3H18 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
