Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, ZC3H12C RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of ZC3H12C’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where ZC3H12C RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types ZC3H12C is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and BLCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, BLCA, and HNSC are the cancer types where ZC3H12C tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
