Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, WNT9A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of WNT9A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where WNT9A RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types WNT9A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and BLCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, BLCA, and LUAD are the cancer types where WNT9A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
