VSTM4

Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, VSTM4 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 15 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of VSTM4’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where VSTM4 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types VSTM4 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BLCA and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.

BLCA, KIRP, and COAD are the cancer types where VSTM4 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
