Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, VPS37D RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of VPS37D’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where VPS37D RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types VPS37D is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUAD, KICH, and COAD are the cancer types where VPS37D tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
