Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, VPS35 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 15 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of VPS35’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where VPS35 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types VPS35 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRP, HNSC, and LIHC are the cancer types where VPS35 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
