Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, VPS26C RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of VPS26C’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where VPS26C RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types VPS26C is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, THCA, and HNSC are the cancer types where VPS26C tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
