Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, VN2R1P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 1 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of VN2R1P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where VN2R1P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types VN2R1P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA are the cancer types where VN2R1P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
