Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, VN1R96P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of VN1R96P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where VN1R96P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types VN1R96P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, HNSC, and LUAD are the cancer types where VN1R96P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
