Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, VAT1L mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated VAT1L data layer compared with 24 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), where higher VAT1L mass-spec protein is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated VAT1L expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as PDAC and COAD show a favorable association.
PDAC, COAD, and CCRCC are the cancer types where VAT1L mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
