Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, VAPB mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated VAPB data layer compared with 27 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where higher VAPB mass-spec protein is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated VAPB expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as COAD and GBM show a favorable association.

COAD, GBM, and LUAD are the cancer types where VAPB mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
