Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, USH1C mass-spec protein differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 2 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of USH1C’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where USH1C mass-spec protein is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types USH1C is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as CCRCC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
CCRCC and PDAC are the cancer types where USH1C tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
