Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, UGT1A8 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated UGT1A8 data layer compared with 19 for mass-spec protein and 1 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher UGT1A8 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated UGT1A8 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC show a favorable association.
HNSC, UCEC, and LGG are the cancer types where UGT1A8 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
