Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, UBE3B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of UBE3B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where UBE3B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types UBE3B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LIHC, HNSC, and THCA are the cancer types where UBE3B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
