Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, TVP23B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 15 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of TVP23B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where TVP23B RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types TVP23B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KICH, BLCA, and STAD are the cancer types where TVP23B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
